ROUND 2 – Technical Interview (30 mins)

Interviewer: Senior Tech Lead – Infosys, Bengaluru
Mode: Video Call (Webex)

Q1. “Introduce yourself.”
Candidate's Answer:

"I’m Surya, a final-year B.Tech student from VVIT, majoring in CSE. I’ve done multiple projects in Python and Java. Recently, I built a student attendance system using Django and MySQL. I’m passionate about backend development and always keen on solving real-world problems using scalable code."

Feedback: Good energy. Precise and confident. Custom project mention worked well.

Q2. “Explain OOP concepts with real-world examples.”
Candidate’s Answer:

"Sure.

  • Encapsulation is like a medicine capsule—it hides the inner details and exposes only what’s needed.

  • Inheritance is like a child inheriting features from parents.

  • Polymorphism is like a person behaving differently in different situations—like a teacher at school and a parent at home.

  • Abstraction is like driving a car—you use the steering, but don’t need to know the engine details."

Feedback: Answer was conceptually strong and example-driven. Well-articulated.

Q3. “Write a program to reverse a string in Java without using built-in reverse functions.”
Candidate’s Answer (Partial Code):

java

public class ReverseString { public static void main(String[] args) { String str = "Infosys"; String rev = ""; for (int i = str.length() - 1; i >= 0; i--) { rev += str.charAt(i); } System.out.println("Reversed: " + rev); } }

Feedback: Code worked well. Mentioned the inefficiency of string concatenation in loop and explained possible optimization using StringBuilder.

Q4. “What is the difference between SQL and NoSQL?”
Candidate’s Answer:

"SQL databases are relational and use structured schema. NoSQL databases are non-relational and are preferred for handling unstructured, large, and rapidly changing data like in social media apps."

Feedback: Good summary. Real-life application context was a plus.

Q5. “What is your understanding of microservices architecture?”
Candidate’s Answer:

“Microservices architecture breaks down a large application into smaller, independent services. Each service is loosely coupled and deployable independently. It helps in scaling and faster development.”

Feedback: Clear definition, but could’ve included an example (like Netflix or Amazon).

ROUND 3 – HR + Communication Round (15 mins)

Interviewer: HR Partner – Infosys Talent Acquisition

Q1. “Why do you want to join Infosys?”
Candidate's Answer:

"Infosys is known for its global presence, strong learning culture, and innovation in digital solutions. I want to grow in an environment that values both technology and people."

Correct Answer: Strong, polished, aspirational.

Q2. “How do you handle pressure or tight deadlines?”
Candidate's Answer:

"I break the problem down, prioritize key tasks, and use time blocks. I also keep buffers for last-minute issues."

Correct Answer: Practical approach, well-explained.

Q3. “Are you open to relocation?”
Candidate's Answer:

"Yes, I’m absolutely open to relocation anywhere in India. My priority is learning and contributing to impactful projects."

Correct Answer: Ideal response for a fresher.
